One touch on-call locator for Hospitals…

TeleMed’s latest innovation delivers a web-based method of searching the on-call schedule of a medical practice and automatically going through all of the listed protocols until the appropriate doctor is located and returns the call. Organizations such as hospitals, medical facilities and nursing homes need only access the secure, HIPAA compliant program directly from the nurse’s station via a web browser. The call out information is entered, and the system then proceeds through the necessary primary and secondary contacts until a call-back is made. No longer does the nurse or doctor at the hospital have to make repeated calls, increasing efficiency also will be gained by the medical practice or doctor being called – as the system moves through the various protocols until a call-back is secured.

Accuracy: Get the Doctor accesses not only the on-call schedule of the medical personnel being requested, but follows various, specific protocols depending on the nature of the call, the patient, or any other customized protocol set by the medical practice. In addition, because the on-call schedule is based upon TeleMed’s industry-leading calendar posting software, My TeleMed, all updates and changes to the on-call schedule are made real time.

On Call Calendars: TeleMed provides its My TeleMed software system as part of the Get the Doctor product. This web-based posting program not only provides the system real time updates, but also provides the medical practice with a record of which calls were made.

Message Delivery: Using Get the Doctor, a nurse or doctor simply enters the information pertinent to the on-call doctor, and submits it once to the system. From that point forward, the system progressively moves through the hierarchy of locate numbers and back-up physicians until the call is closed. Both the medical practice and the hospital are left with a record of the calls and responses.
